Stay updated with what's new and trendy this season :)

2020 has been one hell of a year (which honestly feels like an understatement). From the tumultuous state of our political system to the public health crisis that completely changed our world, fashion has honestly been the last thing on my mind. Besides, with no where to go and not much inspiration from my every day world I felt thrown into a style rut. Until today...
After seeing designers Viktor & Rolf's new couture collection for Fall/Winter 2020 entitled "Change," I felt a spark of Joyspiration for the first time in what feels like half a year. They truly captured and portrayed every emotion I've felt over the past 6 months through clothes. From the deep despairs, to the anger and confusion, and finally a sense of hope and love, this collection embodies it all. But alas, I can't afford any of it. SO, I figured why not take these beautiful couture gowns and find accessible and wearable pieces that we can all rock during this quarantine?
See below for how I interpret these hyperbolic and seemingly unwearable pieces by finding fun and affordable inspired options instead!
1. A Rather Somber Mood
The first of the 3 mindsets is the somber and sad stage, working with darker and deeper tones. This part of the collection is definitely reminiscent of the first few weeks of quarantine when we were truly locked inside. I've picked out some really affordable lounge and sleep wear pieces for those moods when all you want to do is curl up in bed and sleep the day away. Plus, a gorgeous faux leather trench coat for when you're ready to be a bad bitch this fall.
2. The Roller Coaster of Emotions
Sometimes I've felt angry, other times grateful to be working from home, and occasionally fearful and confused. It honestly changes every few hours! This whimsical second mindset really embodies the amount of confusing emotions that have come through in this quarantine. Here's some more sleep and lounge wear pieces, plus a GORGEOUS blush pink faux fur jacket for fall that I honestly need in my wardrobe.
3. Hope
I'm happy to say that I've finally started to enter the mindset of hope. Despite all the darkness, despair, confusion and anger, this year is leading to positive change. The environment has begun to heal itself, people are spending more quality time with their loved ones, and social justice is finally becoming a topic at the forefront of everyone's minds. The last few pieces in the collection are a reminder of the love we can all spread to those we encounter, either virtually or in person (with a mask on of course!)
Stay Joyspired!!
